Colorado Trail Series – Segment 6 (Part 1)

Kenosha Pass to Goldhill Trailhead

This post is part of a series featuring Jana’s journal entries from her Colorado Trail thru-hike

Day 6 ~ We started the day at 6:15am and were the last ones to roll out of camp.  On these segments, it wasn’t too hard to find good camp choices.

We meandered through the most amazingly dense aspen groves, about a mile out of Kenosha Pass.  We had lunch here as this was a campground. There were toilets too!!  The gals we met were finished at Kenosha Pass and gave us their snacks.  Anything that is different than what you have in your own pack is awesome!  I couldn’t seem to get enough to quench my hunger.

We were looking forward to meeting our husbands who were bringing BBQ to Georgia Pass! The little things keep you going.  We also had our nephew and his friend joining us to hike for a couple of days.

We ran into the Colorado Trail Foundation workers and camped close to their set-up at Guernsey Creek. There was lots of drinking water and a chance to wash some clothes. My hiking buddies really were taking care of me!  I was so lucky!
